A Night of Culinary Magic Awaits Guests of the 2016 Golden Foodie Awards

The winners in 24 categories will be awarded during the 5th annual award show at The Fairmont Newport Beach on Sunday, September 25. The Golden Foodie Awards honors and celebrates chefs, bartenders, food and drink of chef driven and independent restaurants in Orange County, California.

The September 25th red carpet affair will be joined by the who's-who in the culinary world, including the celebrity master of ceremonies, Simon Majumdar from the Food Network. Guests are welcomed on the red carpet with Roca Patron, Ketel One cocktails and premium wines while they are led to the outdoor garden overflowing with fabulous food and drinks.

The Golden Foodie Awards will kick off with tantalizing food and libation stations for guests to enjoy. Ketel One craft cocktails, Roca Patron Cocktails, Maker's Mark, wines by Alpha Omega, Villa San Juliette, Cherry Pie and La Gordonne Rose. Kean Coffee will have a pour-over coffee bar. Some of Orange County's finest restaurants will be serving phenomenal food. Restaurants and food that will be enjoyed are: Sealeg's Wine Bar, SeaSalt, The Wild Artichoke, Waterman's, Skyloft, Napa Rose, Carthay Circle, Urbana, Villa Roma, Lillie's Q, Puesto, The Pint House, Prego Ristorante, Anqi, Grit's, Melissa's Produce, Sadie Rose Breads and Provenance.

Fairmont Newport Beach Executive Chef Brian Doherty will be grilling on DCS Grills, offering a Live Station with Hand Made Tortilla's with Charred Corn Masa. Gringo Bandito Rubbed Grilled Lobster, Crispy Suckling Pig, Coffee Rubbed Carne Asada, Served with Pico De Gallo, Sweet Grilled Onion Salsa, Charred Corn Salsa, Wild Mushroom Salsa, Gringo Bandito Infused Fire Roasted Salsa, Black Tomatillo Salsa Pepper Cheese, White Cheddar, Chipotle, Fresh Lime Cilantro, Avocado Lime Guacamole, Massive Chicarrones, Crispy Plantain, Veggie Chicarrones, Five Crispy Tortillas.

Each winner will be presented with the Golden Foodie Award statuette covered in 14-carat gold. The event honors and celebrates culinary talents by embodying the community in ''peer's choice'' vote for the Chef of the Year Award and Pastry Chef of the Year Award. The other categories are the ''People's Choice Food Awards'' and voted on by the food loving public.
