Doha: Mövenpick Hotel West Bay Doha is proud to announce that it plans to continue its partnership with Right4Children, an organisation in Nepal that helps disadvantaged young people by giving them the opportunity to train and work in the hospitality industry.

The apprentices undergo basic training in the housekeeping, kitchen, bell service and food and beverage departments and attend classes to improve their English knowledge and customer service skills until they are ready to assume a full-time job at the hotel.

Since 2013, the hotel has hired 18 people from Right4Children and is looking to hire at least five more before this year-end.

The vision behind the programme is to empower and strengthen disadvantaged and vulnerable young people and give them the right tools and knowledge to create better opportunities for their lives and career, in line with the hotel";s continuing commitment to corporate social responsibility.

'It is rewarding to see these young individuals develop into their roles in the hotel,” said Ghada Sadek, General Manager. 'The trainings they undergo with us are a great stepping stone for their careers and we are proud to see them grow in Mövenpick Hotel West Bay Doha.”

Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts has a global partnership with Right4Children that started in 2009 and 135 young people have benefited from the training programme across hotels in the Middle East.

The collaboration is part of Shine, the global sustainability programme of Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts. Through Shine, Mövenpick aims to give back and contribute to the prosperity of each destination where the hotel company operates. Shine";s practices are grouped around three key pillars – environment; employer; and social sustainability, with education forming the common thread and key focus.
