UAE- ERC delivers more food assistance to Mukalla, Yemen

MUKALLA, 22nd August, 2016 (WAM) – The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) today launched the second phase of its food assistance programme in Mukalla, Governorate of Hadhramaut, as part of the UAE's initiative to alleviate the suffering of the people of Yemen and enable them to grapple with difficult daily living conditions.

Mattar Al Kaabi, head of the UAE relief team in the Governorate of Hadhramaut, said this is the second phase of the food assistance programme the ERC has launched since the liberation of Mukalla from Al Qaeda last April.

He revealed that 40,000 food baskets would be distributed to the population in the city.

Riyadh bin Taleb, Secretary of the Governor of Hadhramaut, thanked the UAE for providing the much-needed food items.
