UAE- Khalifa University new campus will boast four story fitness facility
ABU DHABI, 22nd August, 2016 (WAM) -- Khalifa University has announced that its new campus, scheduled for completion later this year, will feature one of the largest fitness facilities in the UAE in an academic institution.
Housed over four stories, the gymnasium will consist of separate two-level men and women's facilities featuring cardiovascular and weight lifting equipment, as well as studios for yoga and others for martial arts such as boxing and taekwondo. There will also be multi-use courts for basketball, squash, volleyball and badminton.
The new gym highlights the importance of sports and exercise for an overall healthy lifestyle and in combating lifestyle diseases common in the UAE, such as Type II Diabetes.
Dr. Arif Al Hammadi, Khalifa University's Executive Vice President, said, "Khalifa University strongly believes in promoting a healthy lifestyle among its student body, faculty and staff. We hope that our new amenities inspire our community to get active and take care of their health, which in turn will contribute to their efforts in excelling in productivity and innovation."
