Ironsmith, who 'blackmailed ex-wife's new husband', jailed

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) An ironsmith, who blackmailed his ex-wife's new husband and tried to push him into divorcing her by sending him some inappropriate photos of her, has been sentenced to three months in jail.

The 42-year-old Pakistani is accused of using a chatting site to blackmail the other man into divorcing his wife (who is the defendant's ex), threatening that he would defame them by circulating the private photos if he did not comply.

He earlier denied in the court charges of making threats, blackmail via the internet and breaching others' privacy.

The Court of First Instance ordered his deportation.

According to prosecution records, the defendant posted his ex-wife's photos on several applications such as WhatsApp, Imo, Facebook, Twitter and Google plus.

The case dates back to April 10.

The defendant's ex-wife, a 24-year-old Pakistani, told the investigators that one month after her marriage, her husband got two phone calls from her ex. "My ex told him that I am a bad woman and asked him to divorce me or he would face trouble with him".

However, about six months later, the defendant called them again.

Shortly before 11 pm on April 10, the woman was shocked to learn that the accused sent her husband her private photos on Imo messenger. The photos reveal intimate parts of her body, she claimed.

The husband then reported him to the police in Naif.

The defendant's mobile phones were seized by the police.

Private photos of his ex were found stored in his phone. Copies of his conversations with the complainant, including the photos he sent to him, were used as evidence.
