UAE wins two gold medals in Thailand 2016 Stamp Exhibition

ABU DHABI, 21st August, 2016 (WAM) -- The Emirates Philatelic Association, EPA, has participated in the Thailand 2016 32nd Asian International Stamp Exhibition, which saw the participation of 21 countries.

Ahmad bin Eisa Alserkal from EPA won the Gold medal for "Abu Dhabi Stamp 1963-1973" and Ian Bridle won the Gold medal for his exhibit, "Republican Postal Stationery of Java During the Revolutionary Period of Indonesia, 1945-1949"

Thomas Johansen won the Large Vermeil medal for "Development of Postal Service in Bahrain 1884-1948", while Nasser bin Ahmad Alserkal won Large Silver medal for his collection of "Sharjah Postal History" and Ummer Farook won Silver for "Mahatma Gandhi".

In the youth class, Eisa bin Ahmad Alserkal won the Vermeil medal for "Dubai: Errors and Varieties", Rana Farook won Silver Bronze and Disha and Ivana Sara Johan won Bronze medals for their exhibits. In the literature class, Mutaz Osman won Large Silver for his book of UAE Stamp History and Nasser bin Ahmad Alserkal won a Bronze medal for his book, "Stamp Collecting - a New Vision"
