Renault Middle East appoints Marwan as MD

DOHA: Renault recently appointed Marwan Haidamous (pictured) as Managing Director, Renault Middle East. He succeeds Hakim Boutehra, who held the position for over three years. Boutehra has been promoted CEO of Renault Commercial Romania.

Marwan, who is 36, will manage the Renault activities across the Region. The territory spans over GCC countries, Levant, Egypt and Iraq.

A French-Lebanese, he began his career within the Renault group, 10 years ago, after graduating from the prestigious Sciences Po Paris. He holds a Masters in Finance and began his career as financial controller at the Division of International Operations for the North Africa Region.

In 2008, he was appointed CFO of Renault Algeria, taking charge of a key market within the Renault group. Algeria figures among the Top 10 in Renault Global performance ranking.

Three years later, he took up the position of Renault Nissan CFO for the Adriatic Region which includes Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia, and also Greece.

In 2015, as he joined the Africa Region Managing Director. The region includes more than 35 countries with key Renault markets such as South Africa, Tunisia, Ivory Coast and Nigeria.

He has worked in more than 30 countries and spent considerable amount of time travelling. A multilingual, Marwan speaks fluent Arabic, English and French. He also has some knowledge of Spanish and Finnish.
