Jordan, World Health Organization sign bilateral agreement

Amman, Aug. 17 (Petra) -- The Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization (WHO), on Wednesday, signed an agreement to implement the action plan for bilateral cooperation for the current and next year.

The agreement was signed by Minister of Health, Mahmoud Al-Sheyyab and WHO representative in Jordan Christina Profili.

The two sides said the bilateral cooperation constitute a general and institutional framework for implementing several health programs according to the needs identified by the ministry.

They also noted the importance of health programs being implemented through the bilateral agreement in strengthening, improving and developing primary health care services and the health system.

The minister expressed Jordan's appreciation for WHO's support to implement many of health programs that are implemented through the bilateral agreement.

Profili emphasized the WHO's support for health programs implemented by Jordan, stressing the organization's continued cooperation with the ministry to implement the action plan.
