UAE- 'Donate to Knowledge' initiative till September 8

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) In the build-up to the World Literacy Day on September 8, a leading resort in the Capital has launched an initiative called 'Donate to Knowledge'. The initiative will encourage residents, guests and the public to donate books, which will then be forwarded to children's charity, Operation Smile.

Al Seef Resort and Spa by Andalus will also be hosting a series of complimentary children's reading sessions every Friday, where children can learn and read from a selection of reputable books, practise and improve their literary skills and meet new friends. The initiative intends to contribute to the vision of the UAE Government in helping to create awareness of the importance of literacy. The initiative is inspired from the declaration of 2016 as Year of Reading by the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Caroline Delbecque, CEO of the hotel and resort stated: "Gaining knowledge and learning new things all starts from reading, and we are very proud to be part of this great initiative to show our support for the UAE's visions."

The resort, situated next to Al Seef Mall, will be open to donations until World Literacy Day. "If anyone wishes to donate books to Donate to Knowledge, then simply come to the hotel lobby and one of our Alonsos (personal concierges) will happily assist you in taking the books. All books - new or old - will be greatly appreciated for this good cause," said Delbecque.
