Bahrain condemns extremist settlers storming Al Aqsa Mosque

MANAMA, 16th August, 2016 (WAM) -- The Kingdom of Bahrain has strongly condemned the storming of hundreds of extremist settlers of Al-Aqsa Mosque under the protection of the Israeli police and special forces, expressing its strong indignation of the storming by Israeli occupation police of Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The Bahrain News Agency, BNA, quoted a statement from the Bahraini Ministry of the Foreign Affairs as saying that what is taking place reflects a clear determination to violate religious places of sanctity, and in flagrant defiance of the feelings of Muslims all over the world, as well as a flagrant violation of international laws and norms.

The ministry also warned that the continuation of these attacks on religious sites would destroy efforts to resume the peace process and the development of a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue, it highlighted the need for Israel to respect the will of the Palestinian people and their commitment to international resolutions, and immediately stop all settlement activities.

It renewed the firm position of the Kingdom of Bahrain in support of the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and establishing their independent state based on the borders of the 4th of June, 1967, with Al Quds as its capital.
