Qatar attends Arab League Charter meet

Doha: Qatar took part in the 210th meeting of the work team on reviewing the Arab League Charter in Cairo yesterday.

The meeting held under the chairmanship of Saudi Permanent representative to the League, Ambassador Ahmed Abdulaziz Qattan, discussed the 8th draft of the proposed amendments to the charter and the comments received by the General Secretariat after discussing it.

The UAE, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Kuwait made observations on the charter.

Qatar was represented by Minister Plenipotentiary Yasir Awad, Acting Charge d";Affaires in the Qatari Embassy in Cairo

Following the meeting, Qattan said the meeting was within the framework of implementing decisions of the Arab League ministerial council regarding amendments to the charter and the development of an intellectual framework for joint Arab action.
