New Kickstarter Project Uses Farts to Help Children Learn to Read

(MENAFNEditorial) Is it appropriate to use potty humor in educational products? Why not turn potty humor into a positive?

Susan Levy of Hes All Boy thinks humor is the way to engage boys and girls to be excited about learning. She just launched her second Kickstarter campaign which is the perfect follow up to her first Kickstarter campaign, Alpha Cards ABC Flashcards, that was successfully funded in 2013.

The New Kickstarter Campaign features 3 early reader books titled:

Where Does the Fox Fart?
We Pee.
What Does the Dog Lick?

Each book builds reading confidence in kids with their simple and repetitive sentence structure. The illustrations are bright, colorful and filled with small details that encourage the reader to use picture clues to help sound out unfamiliar words.

As a first and second grade teacher, an educational consultant for over 10 years and a mom of a son who had no interest in reading, she knows first hand that learning to read can be challenging.

I tested out my prototypes on kids who were just learning to read. They looked at the illustrations and began laughing. The detailed illustrations motivated them to sound out the words. You could see the excitement in their faces as they successfully could read each page! When they got to the end of one book they couldnt wait to start the next. Even kids who couldnt read yet wanted to have the books read to them over and over again, she explained. Levys growing small business, Hes All Boy, continues to develop products that engage children in learning through the use of hilarious illustrations and laugh out loud humor.

About Hes All Boy:
