Kuwait is not borrowing, Finance Ministry
KUWAIT,14th August, 2016 (WAM) -- The Ministry of Finance on Sunday denied reports claiming that the State of Kuwait had borrowed USD 55 billion from domestic and external markets.
These reports are totally false and baseless, the ministry said in a statement, carried by Kuwait's state news agency, KUNA.
It added that it was crafting a scheme and allotting funds for public debt bonds for the year, according to its strategy and developments in the oil market.
It called on the media to avoid publicizing inaccurate reports that are detrimental to the national economy and the State of Kuwait's image.
