Doha: Qatar Charity (QC) has distributed 5,000 food baskets in the besieged Syrian city of Aleppo as part of its urgent campaign for relief operations.

The aid comes within the framework of relief efforts by Qatari charities, which have stepped up humanitarian operations to cope with the growing needs of civilians trapped in the city.

QC said in a statement yesterday that 5,000 families have benefited from this assistance, which included basic food items such as flour, milk for children, in addition to the water distributed to the homes by QC tanks.

Mohammed Rashid Al Kaabi, Director, Relief Department. QC, said the campaign in Aleppo continues due to the worsening humanitarian situation in the city.
