US PPI drops by 0.4% in July


(MENAFN) Unexpected fall for US producer prices in June on declining costs for services and energy products.

The Producer Price Index (PPI) for final demand decreased 0.4% last month, and it"s the first decline since March. It dropped 0.5% in June.

Reuter's Economists expected a growth in PPI by 0.1% last month, and a gain by 0.2% from a year ago.
