Jordan- PM pays field visit to Tafileh
(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency)
Amman, Aug. 11 (Petra) -- Prime Minister, Hani al-Mulki, accompanied by a ministerial team, on Thursday, paid a field visit to the southern Governorate of Tafileh during which he met with the governorate's officials and public figures and laid the foundation stone for the industrial estate project.
Mulki also checked on preparations for establishing a new hospital in Tafileh, whose tender will be floated next week.
In a meeting held at the Tafileh Technical University, Mulki said field visits will result in actual implementation of local governance through the decentralization law, which emphasizes citizens' right to shape their future by themselves.
He pointed out to the recent visit of Minister of Planning and International Development to Tafileh, during which he highlighted plans for development projects for the next three years, noting that these projects will be annually evaluated according to the law of decentralization and to citizens' aspirations.
The prime minister stressed the need for human capacities and infrastructure, noting that the industrial estate of Tafileh can not be built without qualified manpower.
He also noted that the hospital's campus will include a residence for doctors and nurses, to serve the city of Tafileh, in particular and the governorate in general.
The prime minister spoke about cabinet decisions that were taken regarding the employment of Jordanians in various ventures in the Kingdom's governorates, including Tafileh.
