The Rio 2016 Olympics may or may not be the opportunity of a lifetime for the participating athletes, but they are certainly a once in a lifetime chance for the four lucky winners of Panasonic's 'YallaRio' (Let's go, Rio) campaign as they travel to Rio De Janeiro on a fully paid trip.

The games were declared open in spectacular fashion on August 5 in the second largest city of Brazil. The 17-day multi-sporting event will be played at 37 venues where 10,500 athletes from 206 countries will fight in 42 disciplines during 306 events.

Panasonic Marketing Middle East and Africa (PMMAF) recently concluded the raffle draw of #YallaRio sales campaign for its customers in the region. Four winners from Oman, Jordan, and the UAE have won an all paid trip to Rio Olympics by participating in the one-and-a-half-month campaign. Customers who shop for Dh299/OR30/JD75 were entered in the raffle draw.

Anthony Peter, director of the corporate communications and operations division at PMMAF, said: "Panasonic is sharing the passion of Olympics through #YallaRio for its customers in the region. The campaign was especially designed to perk up the spirits of Olympic fans in the Middle East and we are pleased that it has been very successful. This is a great opportunity for us to connect with our community of fans."

Marie Antonette Cubol and Rey John Paul from the UAE; Hossam El Din Mahmoud Mohamed Aly from Oman; and Sami Hasen Mohmad Khader from Jordan are the lucky winners travelling to Rio, selected through the raffle draw and announced on PMMAF's social media.

The winners will be travelling to Rio to witness all the action at Olympic Games happening in Rio De Janeiro, the Home of Panasonic's brand ambassador Neymar Jr, from August 16-20, 2016.

Peter said: "Our hugely popular regional sales campaign under the banner #YallaRio generated the desired buzz of building awareness of the much awaited Olympics games. By sharing the passion of the games it provides our brand a great opportunity to connect with our valued customers."

The social media hashtag #YallaRio for fans in the region to share the passion for Olympic Games on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram is also well received and customer engagement is likely to perk up during the period of Olympics.

Globally, Panasonic with its ambassador Neymar Jr has launched the 'Dream Fita Project', which celebrates the dreams and passions of both athletes and spectators. The project encourages fans to create their charm bracelet from Brazil that holds their dreams and goals. Panasonic under its 'Sharing the passion' initiative has been supporting Olympics with its cutting edge technologies and remains one of the longtime partners of Olympic games since the first TOP (The Olympic Partner) programme at the Calgary 1988 Olympic Winter Games.
