Kuwait- US condemns Turkey attacks

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) WASHINGTON, Aug 10 (KUNA) -- The Obama Administration late Wednesday condemned "in the strongest terms" the two bombings in Turkey's Kiziltepe and Diyarbakir cities where at least 13 people were killed and dozens were wounded. Local authorities believe the PKK, a group that both Turkey and the US identify as terrorists, is behind the bombing attacks. "We remain steadfast in our support for Turkey, our NATO Ally and partner, which has suffered from several recent terrorist attacks, as well as a violent coup attempt on July 15," National Security Council Spokesperson Ned Price said in a statement.

"We are in close touch with Turkish authorities and reaffirm our commitment to work together with Turkey to confront the scourge of terrorism," Price added. (end) ys.gb
