Oman- 403 held for violating Labour Law

The weekly report by the joint inspection team in the Ministry of Manpower (MoM) states that 403 workers were found violating the Labour Law between July 31 and August 6. These included commercial workers (314), farmworkers (35), housemaids (54) and their equivalents.

The inspection teams caught 379 workers which included 216 absconding and 157 retrenched workers. The teams also caught six workers for other violations.

The Governorate of Muscat (173) witnessed the highest number of violations followed by North Batinah (84). MoM has initiated legal procedures against the violators.

Besides, 381 workers were also deported for violating provisions of the Labour Law and the ministerial decisions executing the law.
