Lebanese official praises UAE for supporting his country

BEIRUT, 10th August 2016 (WAM) --- Chairman of Lebanon's High Relief Commission, Major General Mohammed Khair, has praised the UAE for supporting his country through humanitarian, health and services projects.

He was speaking after Ambassador of the UAE to Lebanon, Hamad Saeed Sultan Al Shamsi, received him along with heads of charities of Tripoli city.

The Lebanese official noted that the UAE is playing this unique role out of its love for philanthropy and keen interest in promoting humanity.

During the meeting, the parties examined the strategies, activities and role of the charities at all levels to support Lebanon during successive crises.

The UAE ambassador was briefed about the conditions, work and supporters of the charities.

He stressed that the UAE has always stood by Lebanon in all circumstances and crises and opened its attache office for humanitarian and development affairs to show how deep the fraternal ties between the two countries are.

The ambassador further stressed that it is important to forge strategic partnerships with charities, orphanages and civil society organisations in the next stage to increase opportunities for consultation and cooperation in coordination with the Lebanese government and its relevant legitimate institutions.
