Oman's inflation rate increases by 1.3pct


(MENAFN) Oman"s inflation posted a 1.3 percent grow in July this year compared to the same month in 2015, driven by 7.87 percent increase in transport and 0.88pct in housing prices.

Meanwhile, inflation registered a 0.3 percent grow in the cited month this year, against June figures, while average inflation in the Jan-July period stood at 0.82pct increase with 2015.

However, foods and non-alcoholic beverages posted a fall of 2.11 percent in July this year, compared to the same month last year and prices of bread fell by 2.7pct.

In addition, fruits and vegetables also registered a price decline of 2.53 percent and 0.23 percent, whereas prices of other food products dropped by 0.24 percent.
