Jordan and Turkey discuss economic cooperation
AMMAN, 10th August, 2016 (WAM) -- Hani Mulqi, Jordanian Prime Minister, and a Turkish economic delegation have discussed future Turkish investments in Jordan, and said the Kingdom is willing to broaden ties with Ankara in economic and developmental fields.
Speaking at a meeting with the delegation from the Turkish Economy Ministry's Foreign Economic Relations Board, Muqli pointed to the gains the Turkish private sector would reap from simplifying the rules of origin agreement which Jordan signed with the European Union.
Jordan News Agency, Petra, quoted Mr. Mulqi as saying, "The simplified rules of origin deal would encourage Turkish industries to invest in Jordan and export their products, particularly fertilizers, to European markets."
Mulqi urged the Turkish business community to take advantage of "this historic opportunity to achieve common interests", maintain Turkish industries in Jordan, and establish partnerships that would contribute to achieving sustainable development.
