KUWAIT CITY, Aug 9: General Department of Public Relations and Media at Kuwait Fire Service Directorate (KFSD) announced that inspection teams from the Fire Prevention Department at Capital Governorate conducted an inspection tour Tuesday morning in the course of which they issued forewarning to shut down two companies in Shuwaikh Industrial Area administratively for violating fire rules and regulations.

One of the companies was found using the basement to store foodstuffs in a manner deemed extremely dangerous to human life and property, as the 500 square/meters store had no license or equipment for precautionary purpose, while the second company was using in-built shelves to store tires.

Director of Capital Fire Prevention Unit Engineer Sulafah Yasin said the campaign was part of a series of inspection campaigns taking place across the governorates in line with directives from the Director General of Fire Services Lieutenant General Khalid Al-Mekrad through which he ordered application of maximum punishments for violators. She explained that officials normally paste warning stickers for companies to remove all violations within 72 hours or face administrative closure.
