Kuwait- UAE reiterates support of Yemen against challenges


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) ABU DHABI, Aug 8 (KUNA) -- Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed Al-Nahyan reiterated support to Yemen to facing challenges, official media reported Monday.

The UAE, led by President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, confirms its supportive stand to the Yemeni people in overcoming security and economic challenges, and achieving national aspirations to restore stability in the country, Sheikh Mohammad said while meeting with Yemeni Prime Minister Dr. Ahmad bin Daghr, according to Emirates News Agency (WAM).

The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi also hailed the current "solid" Emirati-Yemeni ties, noting that his country seeks to provide humanitarian assistance, ensure stability and security across Yemen, and contribute in reconstructing national, economic, and social institutions in the country.

He also indicated that the UAE supports all the measures taken by the Arab coalition, led by Saudi Arabia, to restore the security and legitimacy in Yemen and defeat the rebels, adding that his country is also working on prospects of peaceful settlement to reach a comprehensive political solution to end the suffering of the Yemeni people.

Meanwhile, Bin Daghr briefed Sheikh Mohammad on latest military and political developments in Yemen in light of the progress achieved by the legitimate forces on a number of fronts, especially the recent outcomes of the UN-brokered peace talks between Yemeni warring parties that were held in Kuwait.

The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi was also briefed on the humanitarian and relief operations currently taking place in more than one area to provide assistance to the affected people in Yemen.

Meanwhile, the two sides reiterated their support to the United Nations' endeavors through backing negotiations between the Yemeni parties.

Bin Daghr also extended his gratitude and appreciation to the UAE for its historic and supportive stand, and noble sacrifices towards the people of Yemen. (end) bsu.ma
