Amman, Aug. 8 (Petra) -- Jordan, on Monday, condemned as "cowardly and disgraceful" the terrorist bombing that targeted a hospital in the southwestern Pakistani city of Quetta in Balochistan province and killed dozens of innocent civilians.

Minister of State for Media Affairs and government spokesman, Mohammad Al Momani, said Jordan strongly condemns this terrorist, cowardly and disgraceful act, stressing the Kingdom's solidarity with the people and government of Pakistan, in the fight against terrorism.

Al Momani added that targeting innocent civilians at a civilian hospital is a criminal aggression, calling on the Islamic and international community to counter the blind terrorist aggression that targets innocent lives, which is represented by Daesh terrorist gang.

The minister expressed condolences and sympathy to the families of victims, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.

According to reports, the blast, in which 10 kilograms of explosives were used and Daesh terrorist gang claimed responsibility for, appeared to have been a deliberate attempt to target some of Balochistan province's most prominent lawyers, who had gathered at the hospital's emergency department to mourn a colleague who was shot dead earlier in the day in a separate incident.
