Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, Dhu-AlQa'dah 04, 1437, August 07, 2016, SPA -- Authorities in the Dominican Republic said heavy rain has caused flooding in the city of San Pedro de Macoris and elsewhere in the Caribbean nation's eastern region, AP reported.
Emergency management officials said the storm flooded 125 homes and five stores in the city and caused a mudslide that endangered six other residences. They said drainage problems exacerbated the flooding.
Authorities remained on alert Saturday with 12 provinces on official storm watch.
