Bacanora Minerals Ltd (LON:BCN, CVE:BCN) has noted the passing of former chairman Colin Orr-Ewing following a short illness.

In other news, South America-focused wind power group Rame Energy PLC (LON:RAME) has gone into administration, blaming Brexit for a failure to raise 2.8mln in a funding.

Next, Porta Communications PLC (LON:PTCM) has taken its holding in the London-based financial PR firm Redleaf Polhill to 66% by exercising an option to acquire a further 15% of the business.
It is paying 805,427 in cash and stock. Under the terms of the deal, the AIM-listed marketing and communications group can buy the remaining 34% in two separate tranches a year apart.
Elsewhere, Magnolia Petroleum PLC (LON:MAGP) updated investors on a quarter which has seen it continue efforts to reshape the business in a tough sector.
The North America focussed oil junior exited 21 wells during the three months to June 30, though targeted investments will shortly see new productive wells coming online. The divested wells were described as being 'uneconomic with little or no value'.
Meanwhile, AFC Energy plc (LON:AFC) has signed a joint development agreement with an Italian firm called Industrie De Nora designed to 'accelerate the commercialisation' of former's fuel cell technology.
The pair plan to widen the collaboration to develop new products based around AFC's technology subject to the 'satisfactory progress' of the initial collaboration.
Over at Premier Oil PLC (LON:PMO), it announced a discovery in the Bagpuss exploration well in the North Sea.
Bagpuss is located in the in the Outer Moray Firth, and was drilled to a depth of 1,532 feet. The well encountered 41 feet of hydrocarbon-bearing sands within a 68 feet hydrocarbon column.
Symphony Environmental Technologies plc (LON:SYM) has welcomed a new survey that indicates its d2w oxo-biodegradable technology is safe to be recycled.
The technology uses additives that encourage oilbased plastic to decompose more easily in environments such as the sea.
Northcote Energy Ltd (LON:NCT) told investors it is changing its name to Mayan Energy Limited, to reflect a commitment to widening the company's exposure in Mexico.
Earlier this week the company announced that its Mexican venture had signed a deal with PEMEX, the national oil company, to provide services.
And finally, in a robust trading update, motor finance specialistS & U Plc(LON:SUS) has poured scorn on the doom-sayers who whinge about Brexit.
