Kuwait hockey team wins Desert hockey tournament


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Aug 7 (KUNA) -- Kuwait national team on Sunday won the Desert hockey tournament after defeating "American Army team" 15-0. Chairman of Winter Games Clubs Fehaid Al-Ajmi told KUNA that the tournament which included three US Army teams as well as the Kuwaiti team, aimed to enhance the capabilities and skills of the Kuwaiti players, as well as strengthening relations between the two countries.

He praised the continuing support of the Public Authority of Sports by sponsoring this event, as well as facilitating the participation of the teams in foreign leagues.

For his part, Director of the teams in the Winter Games Club Yousef Al-Kandari praised the tournament and the professional performance of players, adding that such meetings help players gain important experience through their contact with other teams.

The tournament included three US Army teams as well as the Kuwaiti national team, held in ice skating ring of the Kuwait Touristic Enterprises Company.(end) sss.haq
