UAE- 17 construction firms fined in Dhaid


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Al Dhaid Municipality fined 17 construction firms for failing to follow the civic body's regulations during the first half of the year.

Speaking to Khaleej Times, Ali Al Tunaiji, Director-General of Al Dhaid Municipality, said that the violations include illegal constructions, construction works inside farms without permission, failure to implement safety procedures during construction, lack of temporary fencing around construction site, lack of signboards that carry information about the construction projects and illegal dumping of construction waste.

He said that the municipality also renewed 335 licences of construction establishments, approved 261 construction drawings, and issued 154 project accomplishment certificates.

He pointed out that the municipality is keen to provide comprehensive support and services for construction companies which can choose one of 10 drawing models made by the civic body's engineers in case construction site is planned in Al Dhaid Industrial areas.

The municipality also follows up with under construction projects to ensure quality of materials is being used. The municipality also warned the construction and Consultancy Company to follow up the safety procedures by proving the worker with safety equipment such as helmets and safety shoes while carrying construction works at the sites.
