H E Toobi meets Qatari minister, discusses ways to combat pollution

H E Mohammed bin Salim bin Said al Toobi, Minister of Environment and Climate Affairs, received in his office on Wednesday Mohammed bin Abdullah al Rumaihi, Minister of Municipality and Environment of Qatar and his accompanying delegation.

They reviewed means of enhancing cooperation between the sultanate and Qatar.

They also discussed ways and means of sharing knowledge and experience in scientific, research and academic fields. The meeting emphasised the importance of enhancing exchange of expertise in the fields of environment and climate affairs.

The two sides also reviewed procedures and mechanisms in place to protect environment and combatingpollution. They also discussed international issues and adopting measures to promote sustainable development. During a familiarisation tour of the Qurum Natural Park, the minister observed the efforts taken to protect marine organisms and birds, besides reviewing the planting of mangroves.
