Oman assists UAE in rerouting flights

Omani authorities assisted Dubai in rerouting flights via the sultanate's airspace after the crash-landing of Emirates aircraft.

Also, all flights from Muscat and Salalah airports were delayed because of the closure of Dubai Airport till 6.30pm.

Oman's Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA) tweeted that it provided assistance to the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority of the UAE. 'The air navigation was fully implemented and all flights were smoothly rerouted via the sultanate's airspace in coordination with the civil aviation authority of the UAE,' PACA tweeted. 'Air traffic emergency was initiated to follow-up air traffic situation in the region until resumption of flights at the Dubai International Airport.'

The Oman Airports Management Company stated, 'Along with all of our stakeholders, we did our best to accommodate passengers diverted from Dubai. All facilities were in place at Muscat airport to host transferred passengers.'
