UAE- EK521 landing: Passengers, families await details


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Anxious passengers andrelatives ofpassengersat Dubai airport are awaiting updates on flights details and thesafety of their loved ones after anEmirates flight from Trivandrum to Dubai made an emergency landing in Dubai earlier today.

Flight EK521 had 282 passengers and 18 crew on board.

Dr Shaji from Kerala was travelling to Dubai on Emirates flight EK521 from Trivandrum with his wife and three daughters .

"Technically no idea what happened but while landing something abnormal took place on the runway. We saw smoke inside the aircraft and all the emergency doors were opened. I pulled my daughters and took my travel documents and slid down the slides. My wife has scrapes on the knee and she was attended by the doctors and given medication, " hetold Khaleej Times.

"The ground staff were amazing within seconds the ambulance took us away from the flights.

"Right now we are still at the airport in a cordoned off area and are waiting for more information," the 46-year-old added.

'Emirates can confirm that today, 3rd August 2016, flight EK521 travelling from Trivandrum International Airport in Thiruvananthapuram, India to Dubai has been involved in an operational incident upon landing at Dubai International Airport.

There were 282 passengers and 18 crew on board.

The Boeing 777 aircraft, departed at 10.19am from Trivandrum International Airport and was scheduled to land at 12.50pm at Dubai International Airport.
