(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Aug. 1 (Petra) -- Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Imad Fakhoury, on Monday, discussed with British Secretary of State for International Development, Priti Patel, ways to promote bilateral cooperation and keep mobilizing international support to help Jordan cope with the burden of the Syrian crisis.
According to a ministry statement, Minister Fakhoury praised the role of the United Kingdom in supporting Jordan in its efforts in turning the Syrian crisis into an economic opportunity.
The two ministers also discussed ways to enhance the Jordanian-British developmental cooperation and the importance of strengthening efforts to continue mobilizing international support to help Jordan cope with the burdens resulting from the Syrian crisis in various sectors.
The British Secretary commended Jordan's role in receiving Syrian refugees and providing them with support and assistance, expressing understanding of challenges facing the Kingdom due to hosting the refugees.
She also stressed the UK's commitment to further support Jordan to maintain the level of basic services it provides to host communities and refugees.
