Yemeni President Agrees on UN Envoy's Peace Proposal
(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Riyadh, July 31 (QNA) - Yemeni President Abdrabbu Mansur Hadi has agreed on the draft peace deal proposed by the UN Envoy to Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed.
In a statement following a meeting in Riyadh with his advisors, the Yemeni President announced that he has given instructions to the government negotiating team in Kuwait to accept the deal and to sign it provided that the other side signs it.
The move is meant to bring to a halt the bloodshed in Yemen and restore security and stability and state institutions, the president noted.
According to (KUNA) news agency, the statement stated that the draft deal calls for a withdrawal of armed groups from the Yemeni capital Sanaa, the cities of Ta'iz and Hudida to pave the way for a comprehensive political dialogue to start 45 days after the signing of the agreement. (QNA)
