Turkey Cancels Tax on Saudi Dates

Riyadh, Shawwal 27, 1437, Aug 1, 2016, SPA -- The Saudi Export Development Authority (SAUDI EXPORTS), has announced the approval of authorities in the Turkish Republic on the abolition of the tax on the import of Saudi dates, allowing producers of dates in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to expand in the Turkish market without customs restrictions.
In a press release today, the Authority said that it has already received the official approval from the Turkish side regarding the customs duties abolition on various Saudi exports of dates, which are ones of the most developed and competitive Saudi products in the Turkish and world markets in terms of revenues which exceed SR 500 million per year.
It has also showed that the Kingdom's exports to international markets of various kinds of dates amounted to SR 525.5 million in 2015, an annual growth rate of 12% during the period between 2010 and 2015.
