Kuwait- Around 145 arrested in Jahra swoop 50 set for deportation

KUWAIT CITY, July 31: Undersecretary of Interior Ministry Lieutenant General Sulaiman Al-Fahad led a campaign in Jahra Industrial Area and arrested 145 people for various offenses. The operation was conducted upon instructions from the Deputy Premier and Interior Minister Sheikh Mohamed Al-Khaled in coordination with relevant security authorities during which security operatives blocked access roads to the area and succeeded in apprehending the suspects without making room for any escape.

An Interior Ministry press statement indicated 650 individuals were checked in the campaign that resulted in arrest of 145 suspects, of which 73 were involved in residency violations. They also included 7 absconders, three people wanted for civil offenses, 11 people with expired residencies, four people without official identification documents, and three wanted people.

50 for deportation: The Farwaniya Security Directorate referred 50 expatriates to the competent authorities for administrative deportation, reports Al-Anba daily quoting a knowledgeable security source. The source disclosed the 50 expatriates were arrested in eight vice dens.
