Two men get 10 years for drugs possession


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Two Asian men caught with possession of heroin and opium have been sentenced to 10 years in jail and fined Dh50,000, to be followed by deportation.

The Sharjah Sharia Court of First Instance heard that the men had also turned their flat into a drug factory, and were also dealing in the drugs.

Sharjah Police, after receiving a tip off on the men, set a trap for them behind the cattle market at Al Jabail area in Sharjah. Three officials from the General Department of Anti-Narcotics Operation testified that the two suspects were using their home to mix drugs. Police also seized equipment used for preparing, mixing and packing the drugs, and money transfer invoices for the equipment.

The court also sentenced another Asian man apprehended in the case to 10 years in jail and a fine, to be followed by deportation.
