Kathmandu, Shawwal 26, 1437, Jul 31, 2016, SPA -- At least 80 people have died in monsoon-related
disasters in Nepal in the past week, dpa cited the Home Ministry as saying Sunday.
"We have recovered 80 bodies from different locations around the country and nine people remain missing," Home Ministry spokesman Yadav Prasad Koirala, said. "Thirty-one people have been injured in separate incidents." The 80 deaths were recorded in landslides and flooding incidents since July 25. Koirala said the ministry was still working on fatality figures since the monsoon-related disasters began in early July.
Five people were reported dead in different parts of the country in flooding and landslide incidents on Saturday alone.
Monsoon in Nepal, which lasts from July to September, causes disastrous landslides and flooding every year.
