Oman aims USD 46.61bn to boost tourism sector


(MENAFN) Oman's main driver in the next 10 years will be tourism in terms of employment and contribution to local tourism.

Moreover, the Sultanate tourism strategy (2016-40) has been viewed with a whole budget of USD 46.61bn and USD 2.42mn.

The strategy will see an increase in the number of jobs linked with the sector until 2040, rise in the volume of investments, which will reach USD 49.21bn.

In addition, the contribution of the tourism sector in the country stood at USD 507.07mn last year, accounting for 2.7 percent of its GDP.
