Oman's USD1.8bn new airport on schedule


(MENAFN) Oman's USD1.8bn new Muscat International Airport is on schedule for the opening of the airport in the coming year.

Additionally, the new airport will handle 12mn travelers per year, while the Sultanate aims more expansions in three phases to boost its annual capacity.

On the other hand, it will also have 118 check-in counters; 82 immigration counters; 40 gates for both departing and arriving flights.

The capacity of the terminal will reach 24, 36 and 48mn passengers, whereas the whole building area will be 580,000 sqm.
