Jordan- Heatwave continues as temperatures soar above thirties


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, July 31 (Petra) -- Temperatures over the next three days are expected to soar 5-7 degrees above their annual average, as a heatwave takes hold of the country.

According to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD), hot conditions are forecast to prevail on the hilly areas, while it will be extremely hot in other parts of the Kingdom. Winds will be northwesterly moderate.

Daytime temperatures in the capital for today will soar to 36 degrees Celsius dropping to 26 at night, while mercury levels in the Gulf of Aqaba will hit 42 degrees, plunging to 31 at night, the JMD added.
