Hyundai beats rivals in local cars' production


(MENAFN) Hyundai Group outranked global rivals in terms of automobiles manufactured in its home country through last year, with 45pct of all cars produced domestically.

In accordance, the joint ratio of the local yield at Hyundai and its affiliate KIA Corp. marked the highest of 44.8 percent among the world's major five automakers by sales.

Meanwhile, Toyota came second with a local output ratio of nearly 39.2 percent, followed by Volkswagen AG with a ratio of 27.3 percent and General Motors with 22.1 percent.

Both major South Korean firms have been steadily climbing on the ladder of automobile dominance ever since the nineties, as they've been raising their production at their abroad plants.
