UN Envoy Meets Yemeni Government Representatives
(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Kuwait, July 30 (QNA) - The Yemeni peace talks continued Saturday with UN envoy for the Yemeni crisis Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed meeting with representatives from the Yemeni government.
This evening, The UN envoy is expected to meet with Kuwait's Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and a number of diplomats.
The formation of a political council by representatives of the opposition parties, the Ansarullah and the General Peoples' Congress last Thursday, is expected to cast its shadow over today's discussions.
A spokesman for the UN envoy said that the continuation of the talks were important to achieve peace in Yemen. The spokesman refuted that the talks have ended. (QNA)
