Qatar- Works in final stage of RAF's Orphans City in Turkey

DOHA: Works are in final stage of the huge project being developed at a cost of QR50m by Sheikh Thani bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services (RAF) to build an orphan city in Al Rayhaniya area, Hatay Province, Turkey.

The facility will accommodate 630 orphans with the opening of the phase-I of the project. The beneficiary children will be provided services like accommodation, education, health care and so on.

Works are in full swing to make some interior decorations and final touches in construct an area of 60,000 sqm of total premises of 'RAF ‘Orphans"; City”.

The project is being developed by RAF in collaboration with the local partner, Turkish Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH).

The city will have primary, preparatory and secondary schools, clinics, kitchen, laundry and store rooms. A separate building is also being developed for social activities.

The premises will also have play areas and gymnasium and a separate building for hosting the facilities and relatives of orphans.

Initially, the city will accommodate 630 orphan children and by the time, the capacity will be increased.

The city will have 35 villas, three schools, a mosque, separate building for the services like laundry, kitchen, stores, clinic, 12 small playgrounds, a park, three sport facilities, 16 car parking lots, a close door playground, markets and barber saloons.

Centres were also set up in many shopping complexes throughout the country to collect donations as well.
