Omanexpo to organise Food Safety conference on Sep 21, 22

Oman prides itself on being one of the countries with the most stringent food safety laws in the world.

In pursuit of elevating the country's food safety culture and improving the knowledge base of individuals about the importance of food safety standards, Omanexpo, organiser of this year's Food Safety Conference, will bring in renowned food experts to discuss the latest food safety practices and up-to-date information on how the latest food solutions have positively impacted Oman's food industry.

Themed 'Evaluating and Improving Food Safety Environment and Developing Oman's Food Safety for the Future', the Oman Food Safety Conference will be held on September 21 and 22 alongside the long-running Food and Hospitality exhibition at the Oman International Exhibition Centre.

The two-day food safety conference boasts of a dynamic line-up of sessions and speakers who will shed light on the most pressing topics facing the food industry: how to maximise food safety compliance that will lead to improved performance; food poisoning and food recalling systems; best practices from industry experts and utilising enhanced technologies and solutions to ensure the safety of food supply in the country, among others.

Ammar Ahmad, project manager, said, 'With industry experts sharing their knowledge and expertise on food safety practices, attendees will have the best opportunity to understand what is changing and what needs to be changed in their food safety programmes to help curb food safety challenges. Participants will also learn about how food safety solutions could enhance the food business. The conference is set to provide an avenue for like-minded professionals to build a strong collaboration with industry experts and food solution providers.'

He added, 'The food safety conference programme is designed to address current issues, provide regulatory updates, include interactive discussions with key industry players and stakeholders and orient to the latest food safety standards and more.'

The conference is open to professionals from the entire food industry, including food manufacturers, producers, food distributors and wholesalers, food retailers, operators, regulators, academia and professionals related to quality control and assurance, among others.
