LG Elect sales post 19 percent grow in Q2 profit


(MENAFN) Sales of home appliances and televisions offset slumping smartphone sales of S. Korea's LG Elect, which posted an increase in Q2 net profits.

Furthemore, net income for April amounted to USD238.5mn, up 18.6 percent from a year earlier and 36 percent from the last quarter.

On the other hand, operating profit also increased 140 percent on-year to USD0.51bn, whereas sales inched up 0.6 percent to USD0.01tr.

The growth in profit was attributed to robust sales of high-end TVs and home appliances, especially for corporate clients worldwide.
