Sadafco solar power system sees the light


(MENAFN) Sadafco has given the go-ahead for its new photovoltaic-diesel hybrid system that delivers up to 40% of its Riyadh Regional Distribution Centre's daytime energy requirements.

Saudia Dairy and Foodstuff Company (Sadafco) has started operations of its new photovoltaic (PV)-diesel hybrid system that delivers up to 40% of its Riyadh Regional Distribution Centre's energy requirements.

More than 2,000 solar cells were installed atop the carport, covering a surface area of about 1,600 sqm and offering the additional benefit of sun shade for cars.

"This is not just about powering our business, but reducing our operation's carbon footprint in a way that is socially responsible," CEO of Sadafco said.
