KRCS launches food project for refugees in Lebanon

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) BEIRUT, July 28 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS), in cooperation with the Lebanese Red Cross, launched Thursday the 13th campaign to provide food for the Syrian refugees in northern Lebanon.

KRCS delegate Dr. Musaad Al-Enizi said in a statement to KUNA that 3,000 Syrian refugee families will benefit from the campaign with over 6,000 bags of bread distributed daily in the city of Tripoli.

Dr. Al-Enizi said that several bakeries were chosen based on proximity to the dwellings of the refugees to eliminate the difficultly of transporting food.

KRCS distributed 45 million loaves of bread since the establishment of this project last year. (end) mah.gta
