KIA records 10.6pct growth in gross profit over Q2


(MENAFN) On a significant jump in sales, Kia Motors Corp., South Korea's 2nd largest automaker saw its April-June net income rise more than 10 percent from a year earlier.

In detail, the top carmaker revealed that its net profit reached USD727 million through the three months to June, up 10.6 percent from the mentioned period last year.

Moreover, the Seoul-based giant's sales hiked 16.1 percent on-year to a whopping USD12.7 billion, marking the uppermost quarterly record since the year 2010.

"The company's profit grew significantly on a drop in the won-dollar exchange rate and increased sales of new vehicle models and recreational vehicles," a company official said.
