PREVIEW: Investors look for signs of synergies from Shell's acquisition of BG

(MENAFN- ProactiveInvestors - UK) To misquote Prince, it's just another frantic Thursday with around one-sixth of the FTSE 100 companies set to update the market.

You can take your pick as to which company gets top billing. In terms of market cap it is integrated oil giant Royal Dutch Shell, while in terms of most heavily traded shares it is probably Lloyds Banking.

Also from the Big 10 of the Footsie we have AstraZeneca and Diageo reporting.

lon:ba.="" operating="" p="" rel="2989" see="" synergies="" the="" to="" where="" while="">As for Lloyds Banking, it remains a favourite of the retail investors, despite a seemingly never-ending litany of write-downs relating to payment protection insurance and other misdemeanours.

Deutsche Bank thinks commentary will focus less on the second quarter performance and more on management's comment on the outlook for margins, given the widely-held view that interest rates are set to fall to new lows.

Commentary on the prospects for lending growth, especially consumer finance, is also expected, plus, of course, the army of retail investors would love to hear some reassurance on the dividend front.

Deutsche is currently forecasting an interim dividend of 0.9p and a full-year dividend of 3p.

'We expect questions on the outlook for cost of risk in the event of a weaker UK economy, particularly for the self-certification mortgage book (20bn) and Commercial Real Estate book (19.1bn),' the bank said.
